Tony Pace

Tony has had a love for music throughout his life. Inspired by his father, he took up playing guitar as a youngster and has never looked back. Throughout the years, he has been influenced by and learned to appreciate a wide array of musical styles, including soul, jazz, rock n' roll, blues and roots music. It is acoustic music, however, that has had the biggest impact on Tony's life. For some time now he has known that bluegrass/newgrass and related acoustic-based music is what he was meant to play.

It wasn't until a few years ago that Tony would take up playing the dobro. According to the man himself, "several years ago I first heard the sound of a dobro on a Jerry Douglas recording, and I was blown away. The instrument has such a unique sound, sometimes haunting and always so vocal, and I knew that some day I had to have one of these incredible instruments." In the winter of 2003 the dream became a reality, and the dobro has been Tony's main instrument ever since. He has been hard at work learning the instrument with a goal of playing as much as his schedule allows and ultimately bringing it's unique sound to others through performance. In 2006, he became acquainted with local pickers Bill, John and Aaron, and shortly thereafter was invited to join the Two Hearted Band.

Tony is blessed to have the support of his lovely wife Andrea and baby son William, as well as his many friends and family members. His every day life is often hectic, due largely in part to the fact that he has gone back to school to finish a business degree, but he manages to fit music into his schedule when he can to bring balance to his life. As he puts it, "good people, good food, and good music are essential parts of our everyday lives." It is Tony's hope that he can use his God-given talent to make music that will bring enjoyment to others, and to never stop learning along the way.
