So I'm the baby of the group, and also the newest member. Bluegrass
and Folk music was part of my upbringing, with my father being a
guitarist and performer. Growing up in Ann Arbor, however, led me to
experience all sorts of exciting music. From Funk to Jazz to Ska and
Reggae, I've played bass, percussion, and sang in many different
groups all throughout high school and college. My love of music and
performance have taken me many places, including my current line of
work. I am currently an professional audio engineer, working over 200
gigs a year for national touring acts, corporate conferences, and
local bands. I am also part-owner of Mason Street Studios, a
full-service recording studio in Ann Arbor that specializes in
full-band production.
In the last few years, my musical tastes have driven me back to my
roots of folk and bluegrass, energizing me to put down my electric
instruments and pick up the upright bass. In doing this I found a
very tight-knit community in the acoustic music scene, and was asked
to come play with Two Hearted by Tony Pace. Instantly I felt a
kindred spirit in the group, and have been trying to devote all my
spare time to the project. My musical tastes tend to push the group
towards new and non-traditional ways of interpreting the genre, and I
hope to nurture that as part of our sound.
